Kids Against Hunger of Central Texas started in 2009 by two local families, Lamar & Judy Eidson, and Jerry & Madiene Gibson, in response to a practical hands-on solution to fight a global problem, hunger. 1 in 9 people go to bed hungry each night. While progress has been made our work is not complete. Shortly after the start of Kids Against Hunger of Central Texas, the devasting earthquake that rocked the nation of Haiti. The Central Texas community stepped up to package relief food for Haiti in cooperation with another Central Texas nonprofit, Hope for the Hungry. Kids Against Hunger of Central Texas continues to be the feeding partner of Hope for the Hungry to support their school feeding program and community outreach in Haiti. Nearly 1,000,000 meals have been donated and packaged by local area volunteers.
